1. Video of Margaret Atwood and powerpoint on the three factors that led her to write the Handmaid's Tale: 17th century Puritanism, 1980s politics (including the feminist movement), and an interest in utopias and dystopias.
2. Read and annotate articles on the factors listed above; present to class.
3. HW: Read THT through page 33. Please note: if you have not yet turned in your final copy of your "War Story" final draft, it must be submitted by 4/12; otherwise, I will use the points earned for your first draft.
